The first thing you'll realize is that every album you have has a different quality of recording and you'll be critically judging all your music from the day you put these in your ears!
Also due to the extreme sensitivity of these , older iPods may have a background hiss whilst on pause... But newer devices I cannot detect any hiss, like the iPad 2. , of course its utterly in audible with music playing.
It may take a day or 2 to master getting the buds in properly, and then you'll have to get your head around the phenomenal sound you are hearing... After that, you'll have difficulty going backwards to cheaper models .
Edit
After using the senn ie80's for a few months, and extensive listening to various grados, and then coming back to the shure 535's I can say that these iems are utterly phenomenal... The sound is so smooth and perfect, looking at the frequency response curve on headphone.com it's hardly surprising, the curve is beautifully flat compared to he way over done senn ie80,
But much less roll off in the sub bass region compared to grado open backs...
No headphone amp required for these puppies, an iPod can play them amazingly well....
