My wife bought me this as a Christmas present 4 months ago. I am soooo pleased with it. I have played guitar for very many years. I played the bass semi-professionally for most of this time but also played electric rhythm guitar quite a lot. I haven't owned an acoustic guitar since my very first over 40 years ago. At the time, that guitar cost me £20 second-hand and it wasn't even close to being as good as the Yamaha F310 is so many years later. It really is a cracking guitar for the money.
The finish is excellent. It doesn't have fancy binding but who needs it? Apparently the construction is in laminate woods but who cares when it sounds so good. The tuners hold perfectly well - once the strings are stretched tuning becomes a ritual more than a necessity every time I use it. The supplied strings provide good tone although they do seem to be rather heavy gauge. This could be more a result of my 40 year dependence on light gauge guitar strings.
This has re-awakened my interest in sitting down with friends, bashing out a few chords and singing a few songs. I have an ever increasing repertoire where I seek out songs based on interesting chord progressions as much as anything.
I will offer one small criticism of my guitar. As supplied, the action was quite high. It was still playable at the lower frets but at the 12th fret, the action was about 4mm, which was too high for me. But it took me no more than an hour to loosen the strings, and sand down the bridge (not recommended for the completely inexperienced).
All in all, a highly recommended instrument.
